Die schlichte Bezeichnung \u201eAm oberen Platz\u201c macht den Anfang.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ab 1626 wird er zum \u201eTandlmarkt\u201c. Vor rund 400 Jahren stehen Kram- und Handwerksl\u00e4den an der Westseite des Platzes. Die B\u00fcrgerh\u00e4user entlang der alten Befestigungsmauer wurden erst ab 1788 gebaut. Das Haus Nr. 18 erinnert mit seiner zwei-fenstrigen Fassade noch an die schmalen gotischen B\u00fcrgerh\u00e4user.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Auf dem Platz wurden Brenn- und Bauholz verkauft, deshalb bekam er den Namen \u201eHolzplatz\u201c.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">1911 erhielt er den Namen des Schriftstellers und Dichters Franz Stelzhamer. Gleichzeitig wurde das vom Gmundner Bildhauer Anton Gerhart geschaffene Stelzhamerdenkmal enth\u00fcllt. Kaiser Franz Josef I. pers\u00f6nlich und Spenden der Bev\u00f6lkerung finanzierten das Denkmal.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Der Stelzhamerplatz war bis 1949 der Verkehrsknotenpunkt Rieds. Danach wurde der Autobusbahnhof auf den Marktplatz verlegt.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bf2697e elementor-widget
