The Sculpture Hall is situated in the former stable. The vaulting is typical of this type of construction. This building and the grammar school were built at almost exactly the same time, in 1870. So it’s no surprise that the museum was given the tongue-in-cheek nickname of the “Oxen grammar school”. The Sculpture Hall has been used to display works of sculpture for many years. The display includes Gothic sculptures, and in particular works by the renowned Schwanthaler family of sculptors.
