was born in Ried in 1894. She was the daughter of the surgeon and a co-founder of Museum Association Dr. Josef Dorfwirth. Her impressive talent led to private lessons with the drawing masters at the high school in Ried, which at that time only admitted boys. She was later encouraged by Ried painter Franz Xaver Weidinger. In spite of this support, Emmy developed an unusually humble character.
She is primarily known for her Kornmandl pictures depicting piles of grain and the hazy blending of colour in her depictions of Ried and the Innviertel landscape. Her daughter, Emmy Woitsch the Younger, painted watercolours and created textiles.
Emmy Woitsch the Elder died in 1981.
