Die bekleideten Figuren haben zum Gro\u00dfteil aus Wachs geformte K\u00f6pfe, sp\u00e4tere Erg\u00e4nzungen wurden aus Holz geschnitzt. Ihre K\u00f6rperteile bestehen aus Holz und sind durch Draht miteinander verbunden. So k\u00f6nnen sie in verschiedene K\u00f6rperhaltungen gebogen werden. Vorbilder f\u00fcr diese Figuren gibt es im Italienischen bzw. S\u00fcdtiroler Raum. Vom urspr\u00fcnglichen Aufbau sind nur der Ruinenstall (ohne seitliche Anbauten) und vier Reliefs mit topografischen Details aus Oberndorf und Laufen erhalten. Diese Originalteile wurden in die Neugestaltung integriert.<\/p><p>Vor dieser Krippe erklang am 24. Dezember 1818 das erste Mal das ber\u00fchmte Weihnachtslied \u201eStille Nacht!
